Mokamika® is the brandname for our redesign of traditional Italian home cofeemakers,
mainly a Bialetti product.

We looked at the standard "3cups of coffee" size makers for our machines, so they are ALL designed to match that quantity of home coffee production.

1:1 models were made to see the objects live and technical drawings show the insides in all its parts.

Mokamika® cofeemakers use the standard industrial pieces needed for the insides of the traditional coffee maker, in order to brew good coffee and to actually make authentic traditional home made espresso.

Where possible, and needed, aesthetics were renewed and materials thought over again.

The drawings were made to produce an industrial prototype and we are looking for sponsorship.

The results of the project, models and drawings, developed by more than 30 designers, were exhibited in Italy in 1997 in our showroom in Calcata www.portasegreta.org : the visitors were enthusiastic.

For the exhibition, other artists were
invited to join in to express concepts
on the italian culture of coffee drinking and personal statements on coffee.
This produced unique sculptures and drawings, paintings and photographs to go along with the models.

... the machines were designed to be industrially produced and become an alternativeto the traditional espresso coffee maker.
